Hiya.. I just thought I'd write something. I came across your site accidentally cos I was looking for the Monro website. And yes, I succumbed to the horrible temptation of the word "SALE" and bought a couch. And my house isn't even built yet!!
Anyway, I'm also a Malaysian and have been here since 1999 after studying and marrying here. Unfortunately I'm a straight woman but I do wish I was a gay man sometimes!!They have so much more exciting lives!
But just reading your blogs have brought up the exact same feeling that I get when I am here but yet I regard KL as my home cos my whole family is back there. So I really understand your feelings. Besides I'm going back in October and I can't bloody wait.
Keep posting those comments and that Neil of yours sounds positively drooly. You better not take him into those bohsia bars in KL where those scrawny losers will paw and try to cop a feel!
Anyway, take care!!

Dear gooboo (can I call you that?)
Thanks for dropping by..
Haha.. a fellow Monro-victim I see?! :-) Oh well, what can I say, Monro had done quite well from us, considering the amount of purchases we had done with them. And THAT's what happened when there's so little choices available here in Perth (unlike in the eastern states, where there's tonnes of options, where we could choose from).
With regard to the "home" issues, yeah, it still affect me whenever I'm travelling between KL and Perth, but I guess, these days, the only thing tying me back to Malaysia would be my family there, and all the great friends I left behind. Whereas here in Oz, this IS my life now. And my heart is definitely here too! ;-)
that Neil of yours sounds positively droolyOh man, I wonder why people keep getting such idea? Haha.. Frankly speaking, he's just an average looking guy, just like I AM. One thing for sure though, he IS my horny -- uhm, I mean honey -- bear!
And funny you should mention about those scrawny losers from those bohsia bars in KL, I don't know how far back you've read my blog, BUT that was exactly what we had to deal with in Singapore recently!
[Just check out my July2004 Archives and scroll down, or just click here: http://duasen.blogspot.com/2004/07/peril-of-having-groupies.html#comments Hehe..]
Annoying, but hilarious nevertheless.
Anyway, it's been nice to know a fellow Malaysian, who understands how I feel, being in a totally foreign place, starting a new life.
Oh, and have a safe pleasant trip back home (haha) in KL. Celebrating Hari Raya there I see?! I just have to be satisfied with my instant ketupat and instant curry, my mom supplied me when I left.
Take care girl, and do keep in touch!
